Golf Announces 2013 Spring Schedule

The Canisius College golf team will open the 2013 spring schedule March 31-April 2, when the Golden Griffins take part in the Towson Inviational presented by Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, head coach Todd Hummel announced today. In all, the Blue and Gold is scheduled to play in five spring tournaments, capped off by a trip to the 2013 MAAC Golf Championships in Orlando, Fla.

Canisius will take part in the Towson event for the second-straight season. This year's event will again be held at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md. The Griffs will return to Rhode Island April 6-7 to take part in the Rhody Invitational before traveling west to be in the field at the Detroit Titan Invitational at Prestwick Village Country Club in Highland, Mich. The Detroit tournament is a 54-hole event that will run April 12-13.

The Blue and Gold will make the trip to Raleigh, N.C., April 20-21 to play in the NC State Wolfpack Spring Open. This will mark the first time Canisius has played at NC State. The 2013 season concludes April 26-28, at the 2013 MAAC Golf Championships. This year's conference tournament will be played at Disney's Palm Golf Course, which measures 7,011 yards from the championship tees and boasts a course rating of 73.7 with a slope of 131.
