The Canisius College Baseball program will host its 2016 summer baseball camp on July 25-28 at the Demske Sports Complex on campus of Canisius College. The camp is aimed for players age nine through 15.

The cost for each camper is $170 for the week and the camp will run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday. All participants will receive a camp T-shirt, and the participants will be divided into age groups to ensure camp participants will be working with similar age and ability levels.

The Golden Griffins Baseball Camps are designed to teach young players in the various aspects of the game. The younger ages will be introduced to proper mechanics necessary to provide a solid skill set. Older participants will be able to receive proper instruction, which will enhance their present skill level. Instruction emphasis will be placed on the fundamentals of each facet of the game. Instruction will be designed to suit the needs of each individual player.

Canisius won its second MAAC Championship in 2015, heading to the NCAA tournament for the second time in program history. The Golden Griffins played in the Springfield, Missouri regional and took on Missiouri State and Oregon. In the opening game against the Bears, graduated standout Conor Panas sent a message to the NCAA that Canisius can compete at any level, driving a first pitch long ball over the right field fence. The Griffs were ousted by Missiouri State and Oregon but the squad continued to cement its legacy as one of the dominant teams in the Northeast and the MAAC.

During the past five years, Canisius has had 13 players with the program selected in the Major League Baseball Draft. Canisius has also had seven All-Americans, 16 first-team all-MAAC Selections, 12 second-team all-MAAC selections, the, 2013 and 2012 MAAC Relief Pitcher of the Year, the 2015, 2014, 2011 and 2009 MAAC Player of the Year, the 2014, 2010 and 2008 Anaconda Sports MAAC Coach of the Year, 2013, 2012 and 2008 MAAC Rookie of the Year and 2014, and 2008 MAAC Pitcher of the Year.
