Golf Finishes Second at Little Three

Creighton shot 35 on the front nine and completed the back nine in 37 shots for an even-par 72. His efforts ranked just below St. Bonaventure’s Brennan Payne, who shot a four-under-par 68 to win the event.
Knott’s third-place finish tied the efforts of St. Bonaventure’s Kevin Lewis, both finishing with a one-over-par 73.
Freshman Scott Moser added points for the Griffs with a fifth-place 74 and fellow freshman Steve Seeler placed tenth with a 78 on the day.
Canisius earned a total of 297 points, falling behind St. Bonaventure’s 289 team points. Niagara finished with a team score of 321 to round out the tournament. Niagara’s top finisher Chris Singleton shot 76 for ninth place.
The Golden Griffins return to the course Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Cornell Invitational in Ithaca, N.Y.
Tournament notes: Canisius has earned second place twice in the past four years, both times while hosting the annual tournament...The Little Three tournament has been held since 1956.
