Anne Brocker Pierson ('93) - A four-year letterwinner for women's basketball, Pierson was a member of the first Division I 20-win season when the Golden Griffins went 21-7 during the 1989-90 season...She pulled down 855 rebounds to rank fourth all-time at Canisius, and racked up a total of 1,358 points to capture seventh place all-time...During her junior season she scored 16.5 points per game, shot 49 percent from the field and pulled down 8.9 rebounds per contest...One of only 14 players in school history to have scored 1,000 career points...Pierson and her 1989-90 teammates were the first Canisius squad to compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), and Pierson was the first Canisius player named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team...In 1991-92 Pierson became only the second female player in the history of Canisius College to earn a place on the First Team All-MAAC squad...Also earned academic honors, winning a place on the MAAC All-Academic Team in both 1991-92 and 1992-93, and on the CoSIDA GTE District I Academic All-American roster in 1991-92...In her senior year she received the Canisius College Presidential Student Athlete Award.
