Canisius College men's basketball coach Tom Parrotta announced today that freshman guard Rob Gagliardi (Whitby, Ont.) will redshirt for the 2009-10 season. Gagliardi will sit out this season and will have four years of eligibility remaining, starting in the 2010-11 campaign.

Galgiardi, who has been granted a medical leave of absence for the fall semester, is dealing with a health issue and is currently receiving medical treatment. He is expected to return to school at the start of the spring 2010 semester.

The men's basketball team returns to action Saturday, Nov. 28, when the team plays host to Howard at the Koessler Athletic Center in the 2009-10 home opener. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
