Jeff O'Brien '89 - The most accomplished tight end of the modern era, O'Brien caught a school record 136 passes in 35 games for 1,753 yards and 13 touchdowns. As a freshman, the Rochester, N.Y. (East HS) native caught eight passes for 122 yards in a 19-17 victory over Buffalo State, and he had seven receptions for 109 yards and one score in a 34-13 triumph over Brockport during his sophomore season Jeff twice earned 1st team honors from the ECAC and was a 2nd team Football News and Pizza Hut All-American as a junior and a team co-captain for his senior campaign. O'Brien caught passes in 32 consecutive contests, and scored two touchdowns in a 38-15 triumph over U/Buffalo in 1988. Jeff is currently the Director of the Mentors in Violence prevention program at the Center for the Study of Sport in Society at Northeastern University.
