Tom Niland '47 - A superstar for the Golden Griffins basketball team, Niland was a guard and took the role of captain in his junior year. That season he took third place in scoring honors and was chosen on the All-Upstate Basketball team. In that same year, the Griffs upset #3 Syracuse in a 43-41 win. Niland also played an instrumental role against the NYU Club, turning in 11 points in a 50-45 loss. In the 1946 season alone, Niland earned over 100 points.
