The President's Day Holiday and two days off from school usually brings joy to college students. A two-day break from classes is a good time to relax and unwind. However, President's Day also means one more thing: Mid-Term Week. Apparently many professors see holidays as a time to add on more work. I'm sure they're thinking, "These kids don't have anything to do on their two days off. They would love to do homework". Ok, maybe not exactly but that's what I'm picturing in my head.

So, obviously I'm writing this in the library when I should be doing homework. It's a beautiful day outside. I can tell by looking through the huge windows directly in front of the library chair I am sitting in. The situation is similar to putting a bone in front of a dog and telling him to "stay" for the next four hours. My girlfriend came in for an hour or so but then decided that sun and life outside of this silence offers way more than I do.

Alright, I'm done whining. After all, it's almost the best time of the year. Only one more week until playoffs! It's time to start growing the beards and getting ready for "do-or-die" games. While I love golf and look forward to playing with my golf team here at school, I'm not quite ready yet. The thrill of seeing how far your team can push into the postseason is one of the greatest feelings in sports.

First, we have a weekend home-and-home series against Mercyhurst. While we only have a slim chance of moving up one spot in the standings, this weekend offers a chance to gain momentum going into the playoffs. We already know we will be facing UConn, and most likely will be traveling to Storrs, Conn. for the best-of-three series.

This weekend is also our annual "Senior Weekend", with our teams' seniors being honored after Friday night's game. Sunday will be our Senior Banquet and then it's playoff time. With the excitement building and beards growing, my senior year is winding down. Though it is bittersweet, I can't wait for the playoff run with the boys.

Until next week, keep your head up.
