Derrick Bishop ('95) – A four-year letterwinner for the Golden Griffins from 1991-95, Bishop is the ninth former member of the hockey program to be inducted into the College’s Sports Hall of Fame. A two-time team captain, he ranks ninth in career points scored with 144 after he tallied 46 goals and 98 assists in 103 career games. His 98 career assists ranks fourth on the program’s career helpers list, and his 33 assists in 1992-93 still ranks fifth on the school’s single-season assists chart. He led the team in points in 1994-95 when he was credited with 44 on the power of 16 goals and 48 assists. He finished his career in Blue and Gold with a +80 rating and he tallied 13 power play goals, highlighted by his career-high six markers on the man-advantage in 1993-94. He was named the team’s Most Valuable Player after the 1994-95 campaign and he was honored as the program’s top forward in two different seasons. He earned his undergraduate degree from Canisius in marketing and he currently lives with his family in St. Catharines, Ontario.
