Senior midfielder Maria Kotas and junior attacker Tori Quinn have each earned IWLCA All-Regional honors, the organization announced on Monday.

Kotas was named to the IWLCA West Region First Team, marking the first player in program history to receive such honor. Quinn was named to the IWLCA West Region Second Team for the second straight season – the first player in program history to make an All-Regional team two times.

Kotas posted 81 points during her senior campaign on 56 goals and 25 assists, which set the single-season record for points. The Lancaster, N.Y. native also collected 67 ground balls, which also tied the program’s season record, caused 53 turnovers and won 79 draw controls. The 2014 MAAC Midfielder of the Year, Kotas also was named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team for the fourth time, becoming the first player in league history to do so and was named MAAC Tournament MVP for the second-straight season.

She finished her career last Friday in the Griffs’ NCAA Tournament loss to Penn tied for second in Canisius history with 200 career points and second in ground balls (183), draw controls (192) and caused turnovers (117).

Quinn, who previously owned the school record for points in a season with 79, finished her junior campaign with 71 points. Quinn now owns two of the top-five point producing seasons in Canisius history.

The Orangeville, Ont. native was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row, with 47 goals and 24 assists during her junior season. She also picked up 29 ground balls, won 16 draw controls and caused 23 turnovers.

Quinn currently has 114 career goals, and became the second-fastest player in school history to reach the century mark in the Griffs’ win over Manhattan on April 12.

By making the All-Regional teams, Kotas and Quinn are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced on Monday, May 19.
