Event Recap
The Canisius outdoor track team completed a record day from the NAZ/ROC City Classic Sunday afternoon, running to four first place finishes, four stadium records and one school record.

Senior Brennan Root began the day for the Griffs with a first place finish in the men's 3K steeple event (9:17.01), setting a Golden Flyer Stadium record.

From there, junior Carlin Sullivan set a school record with a second place finish in the women's 1500 meter (4:39.15), while senior teammates Haley Keene (4:55.62) and Cat Niederpruem (4:58.18) placed seventh and ninth respectively.

Senior Cooper Roach became the second member of the Blue and Gold to break a stadium record on the day, winning the men's 1500 event with a time of 3:54.50. Senior Xavier Sauvageau (2nd, 3:58.32), freshman Donny Glavin (6th, 4:02.38) and senior Galen Snyder (7th, 4:02.99) all placed inside the top ten in the event.

Freshman Justyna Wilkinson (18:38.25) and Anthony Belfatto (15:46.87) continued the strong Golden Griffin running, with second place finishes in their respective 5K events.

The Griffs also found success in the 4x800 meter races, winning the event on each side.

The women's 4x800 team of Keene, Sullivan, sophomore Siobhan Quinn and junior Haley Virginia won the event with a time of 9:33.74, while the men's team of freshman Marcus Brown, sophomore Paul Henry, Roach and Root gained a top time at 7:48.16.

Head Coach Nate Huckle's Comments
“We had an outstanding showing in the middle-distance races today, setting one school record and four Nazareth facility records.”

“Brennan Root started the day off with an IC4A qualifying mark and a new stadium record in the steeple. Our 1500 meter runners followed his performance with strong runs.”

“The men's 4x800 meter relays each broke the existing facility record, as did the women's squad. The women missed the school record by one second.”

“This sets us up very well for the Bucknell Invitational next weekend.”

Up Next
The Griffs will head to Lewsiburg, Pa. next Friday, as they take part in the Bucknell Bison Invite.
