Griffs and Team Canada Set to Scrimmage on Sunday

The Canadian National Team will square off with the Canisius College men’s lacrosse team as part of the national team’s selection camp with the Griffs set to face Team Canada on Sunday at 6 and 8 p.m. at the Demske Sports Complex.

The national team is also playing the University on Denver on Saturday at 4:30 and 7 p.m. at the Demske Sports Complex, while playing Robert Morris on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s. Admission is $5 at the gate.

The Canadian National Team, coached by current Canisius head coach Randy Mearns, is holding its training camp in Buffalo. The 51-man roster is preparing for the 2014 FIL World Championship, which will be held in Denver from July 10-19.

Five former Canisius standouts – Dan Coates ’11, Angus Dineley ’07, Adam Jones ’11, Kevin Ross ’07 and Matt Vinc ‘05 – are set to compete at the selection camp for the Canadian National Team, which has split the last two world championships with the United States.
