Rigney’s Goal Named NCAA Hockey Play of the Week

Junior forward Braeden Rigney scored the game-winning goal on Friday in the Canisius College hockey team’s 3-1 victory against Connecticut. On Tuesday, his tally was named the NCAA Hockey Play of the Week. Click here to view the top five Plays of the Week.

In the second period with the game knotted at one, Rigney beat three Connecticut defenders in a 1-on-3 and then flipped the puck high glove-side for his first career game-winning goal.

Rigney has totaled five points, two goals and three assists this season – all coming in the Griffs’ last six contests of the year. Canisius returns to action on Friday at Army with game time slated for 7:05 p.m.
