Freshman Wyatt Sintay  was named ECAC Metro/Upstate Male Swimmer of the Week for his performance in Saturday’s meet against Gannon, the organization announced this week.

Sintay swam his way to a Koessler Athletic Center Pool record in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing the event in 2:09.42 – which was good for a first place finish.

Earlier in the meet, Sintay swam to a first place finish in the 200-yard IM, finishing more than four seconds ahead of the competition in a time of 1:59.25. Sintay also swam the breaststroke in the 400-yard medley relay that finished second.

Sintay and the Griffs return to action on Saturday, Jan. 18 against longtime rival Niagara. That is the final regular season meet for the Griffs this season, and will take place at the Burt Flickenger Center on the campus of E.C.C. at 10 a.m.
