Jason Rausch ('93) - A native of Ontario, Rausch holds the distinction of having been the first player to commit to Canisius College following construction of the Demske Sports Complex.  Recognized as one of the most powerful hitters in the history of Canisius College baseball, Rausch had 54 career extra base hits, 27 of which were home runs.  In 1992 he had a slugging average of .765, an on-base percentage of .510 and a batting average of .412.  He holds the Golden Griffin all-time career record for home runs, is second all-time in career RBI and third all-time in career batting average. For three consecutive seasons he earned a place on the New York State All-Star team, which enabled him to fulfill a childhood dream of playing in Yankee Stadium, and was selected twice for the MAAC Baseball All-Conference Team. On three occasions he was named a GTE Academic All-American and as a senior he was honored as the Canisius Student-Athlete of the Year.
