*John Rybak '35 - Coach and player for the Golden Griffins basketball team, Rybak also played football for the Griffs. He scored eight points in seven games on the turf for the Griffs in 1934, placing third on the team behind fellow football greats Frank Rustich and Joe Szar. A triple threat halfback, great runner and superb punter and good passer, Rybak was also a strong defensive player. The three-sport star was a forward in basketball, an infielder in baseball and played multiple roles for the football team. A better than average student and superstar player, Rybak later coached the Griffins basketball team.
