Brendon Burke is in his fifth season overall with the Golden Griffin men's lacrosse program, serving as the team's defensive and recruiting coordinator. He is in his third season back on the Canisius sidelines after also spending the 2005 and 2006 campaigns in Buffalo before a four-year run at Mercyhurst.

Burke has been instrumental in two MAAC Championships for the Griffs. He recruited a number of key contributors for the team's 2008 title run, while coaching a strong defensive unit in 2012. In the team's most recent championship, Canisius held the MAAC's top offensive team in Siena to zero second-half goals in the 10-9 victory, five goals fewer than the Saints' regular-season average in conference play.

In just two seasons since returning to the Canisius sidelines, Burke has had an immediate impact with the Griffs. He mentored Dan Coates and Ryan O'Hagan to becoming the first two defensemen in the program's history to garner first-team All-MAAC accolades in 2011 and 2012, respectively. After his graduation, Coates became a first-round selection (eighth overall) by the Colorado Mammoth in the 2011 NLL Draft.

Burke rejoined the Griffs after a four-year run with the Division II Lakers. He helped lead the team to a 46-10 mark during his tenure, which included a trip to the 2007 NCAA National Championship.

During his time at Mercyhurst, Burke oversaw one of the top defensive units in the country. He mentored eight USILA All-Americans, including the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year and the 2008 Goalkeeper of the Year. During the 2010 campaign, Mercyhurst ranked first in the country with a scoring defense of 5.50 goals per game.

Following the 2008 season, Burke earned the IMLCA Outstanding Assistant Coach of the Year Award, which is presented annually to the top assistant coach in each division.

In his first stint with the Griffs, Burke helped lead the team to their first MAAC regular-season championship in 2006 in addition to his strong recruiting that would eventually lead to the 2008 postseason title.

Prior to his time at Canisius, Burke spent one season at Cortland, helping the Red Dragons to a 15-3 record and No. 2 national ranking.

A four-year starter at St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Burke captained the team his senior season, leading the Knights to the 2002 Division II Semifinals.

Burke earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Andrews in 2002. He also earned his master's in sport administration from Canisius in 2006.
