Albano enters his second season with the Canisius College volleyball program after joning the Golden Griffins in January 2011. The West Seneca, N.Y. native previously spent a year at the University of Rochester as an assistant coach with their women's volleyball team. Albano has also been an assistant coach with the men's volleyball team at Springfield College as well as with the men's and women's teams at Nazareth College. A four-year captain at Springfield, Albano was a part of two Division III national championships (2002 and 2003) and was also a two-time AVCA All-American (2004 and 2005).

Albano earned his bachelor's degree in history from Springfield and also earned a Master's degree in education in 2009. Albano is special education teacher in the city of Buffalo.
