The team’s captain last season, Ryan Bohrer of the Canisius College hockey team has signed a contract with TSV Peissenberg, which is a member of Bayernliga in Germany.
In 138 career games with the Blue and Gold, Bohrer totaled 33 points, 13 goals and 20 assists. He helped lead the Griffs to two appearances in the Atlantic Hockey Championship, including the program’s first crown in 2013. During the team’s title run his junior year, Bohrer anchored a record-setting penalty kill unit, which finished with the 11th-best percentage (90.1) in NCAA history.
In his senior campaign, Bohrer served as the team’s captain as the Griffs returned to the conference championship game, totaling six points, two goals, four assists and a plus/minus rating of +2 in 41 games.
Bohrer is the sixth member (of a possible seven) of the Canisius Class of 2014 to sign a professional contract after finishing his career with the Griffs.
