The AHL Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year this season, Conacher earned the top star in the Norfolk Admirals' 6-1 clinching victory, registering four assists to help complete the sweep against the Toronto Marlies. Overall, Conacher totaled 15 points (2g, 13a) in 16 playoff games to lead the Admirals to the team's first championship.
In his first full season playing professional hockey after wrapping up a successful four-year tenure at Canisius, Conacher appeared in 75 regular-season games with Norfolk and totaled 80 points, 39 goals and 41 assists. He finished his rookie campaign ranked first in the league in goals and second in points.
After leading the Admirals to the top record during the regular season, Conacher became just the fourth rookie in AHL history to garner MVP accolades.
Conacher set or matched 12 career, single-season and single-game records during his career at Canisius. The 2009-10 Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year owns the program's standards of 147 points, 62 goals and 12 game-winning tallies. He also set the school's records with 53 points and 33 assists during his junior campaign, while breaking the goals mark with 23 in his senior year.
In March, Conacher became the second Griff to sign an NHL contract, inking a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Carl Hudson signed with the Florida Panthers in 2010.
