SOFTBALL CONTINUES HOMESTAND THIS WEEKEND

• The Canisius softball team will continue its eight-game homestand Saturday and Sunday when the Golden Griffins play host to Rider and Monmouth in a pair of MAAC doubleheaders.

• The Griffs are 14-26 overall and 4-8 in MAAC play. The Blue and Gold started its final homestand of the season by splitting a non-conference twinbill with Syracuse April 24.
• Canisius is 2-4 in MAAC games at home this season. Last weekend, the Blue and Gold split a MAAC doubleheader with Siena.
• On Sunday, Canisius will honor its two seniors, Jen Consaul and Valorie Nappo, who will be playing in their final home MAAC contests.

PRACTICE SWINGS

• Canisius freshman Lindsey Silfer leads Canisius with her .345 batting average. The team's primary designated player, Silfer ranks second on the team with her 40 hits this year, which includes seven doubles and two home runs.
• Junior Robin Kennery ranks third on the team with her .311 batting average. She is the team's leader with 41 this season. In her career, she has totaled 138 career hits, which ties her for 23rd in school history.
• Freshman Jessica Berzins leads the team with 21 runs scored through 38 games. She is also hitting .330 with a team best eight doubles.
• Junior Michelle DelPrince has scored a season-high 25 runs for the team this year. Last season, she scored a career-high 28 runs in 47 games played.
• Sophomore Meghan Cuda is tied for the team lead with 21 RBI, and she is tied for second with her nine home runs this year. Those nine homers in a single season are the most for a sophomore in program history.
• Senior Jen Consaul is 13-16 with a 2.55 ERA and 90 strikeouts in 198 innings of work this season. Consaul saw her streak of 13-straight starts and 93 consecutive innings pitched come to an end April 24 when she did not start game two against Syracuse.
• Consaul, the program's career leader in complete games with 79, ranks first in career appearances (119), third in career starts (81), first in career innings pitched (589.2) and 10th in career strikeouts (330).

THE RIDER SCOUT

• The Broncs are 5-34 overall and 3-9 in MAAC play. Rider travels to Buffalo having won two times in its last 15 contests, dating back to April 6.

• Junior Amanda Irving leads the Rider offense with her .317 batting average. She has a team-high 39 hits, 13 of which have been doubles.
• Freshmen pitchers Kaitlyn Kallert and Delany DeMello have combined for four of the team's five wins in the circle this season. As a staff, the Broncs' team ERA is 5.55.

CANISIUS vs. RIDER SERIES

• Canisius and Rider have met 38 previous times, with the Griffs leading the all-time series 24-14.
• Last season, the teams split in the regular season.
• Dating back to the 2006 season, Canisius is 7-0 at home against Rider, where the Griffs have outscored the Broncs by a 47-9 count.

THE MONMOUTH SCOUT

• The Hawks are 15-17 overall and 6-6 in MAAC play this season. This is the program's first year in the league.

• Junior Vanessa Cardoza is hitting a team-best .336 this season.
• Monmouth has five players hitting better than .300 on the year. The team's .282 batting average ranks second in the MAAC this season.
• Pitchers Sydney Underhill is 12-11 with a 3.54 ERA and 14 complete games this season. She leads the Monmouth pitching staff with 90 strikeouts in 152.1 innings of work.

CANISIUS vs. MONMOUTH SERIES

• Monmouth and Canisius have played two times previously, with each team scoring a win in the series.
• Canisius won the last meeting between these two schools by the score of 2-1 in eight innings. That game was played March 16, 1996 at the East Carolina Invitational.
