The Canisius softball team split a doubleheader with Forli Sunday afternoon at Forli Stadium in Italy. The Golden Griffins took the first game 2-1 before falling in the nightcap by a 3-2 count in eight innings.

In the first game, Jen Consaul earned the win in the circle after she went the distance and allowed one run of four hits while striking out two and walking two. Canisius posted six hits in the win, led by sophomore Lindsey Silfer, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Silfer also scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth on a wild pitch. Senior Michelle DelPrince scored the team's first run, while Alexis Roman, Robin Kennery, Meghan Cuda and Consaul all recorded hits as well.

In the second game, Forli defeated Canisius 3-2 in extra-innings. The game, which was decided on the international tiebreaking rule, was sent into extra frames when Valorie Nappo scored in the top of the seventh on an RBI-single by sophomore Jessica Berzins. Kennery went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI sacrifice fly in the third and Silfer had two hits in the losing effort, including a double.
