Golf Ends Weekend Stay at Cornell

Canisius College senior Stephen Seeler shot a final-round 74 while teammate Joe Vogl also posted a 74 on his scorecard Sunday as the Golden Griffins closed out their weekend at the Cornell Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca, N.Y. Seeler tied for 36th in the field to stand as the top individual performer for the Blue and Gold.

As a team, Canisius shot a 54-hole score of 931, which placed them 11th out of 12 teams in the field. The Binghamton Bearcats secured their secondp-straight Cornell Invitational crown by posting a three-round team score of 871.


Vogl's 74 on Sunday allowed him to finish in a tied for 44th in the field with his three-day total of 231. Junior Michael Carrig posted a 235 for the weekend and tied for 50th.


The Canisius golf team will return to action Oct. 10-11 when the team takes part in The Connecticut Cup, an event hosted by UConn.
