Canisius junior Joe Vogl shot a one-over par 73 and the Golden Griffins' golf team posted a team score of 302 on the second day of the 2012 MAAC Golf Championship at the Magnolia Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Vogl is tied for fourth after 36 holes with his two-day total of 144, while the team sits in third with a score of 600.
Junior Mike Spiotta shot a 75 on the day, but he did post the event's first eagle after he holed out on the par-five fourth hole. He will enter Sunday's final tied for 14th his 36-hole score of 149. Senior Stephen Seeler was two over in the second round and is tied for 16th with his score of 150, while junior Michael Carrig is tied for 25th overall.
Loyola's Jay Mulieri and Niagara's Michael Jiggins are tied at the top of the leaderboard, as each player will start the final 18 holes on Sunday with scores of 141, highlighted by Jiggins score of 69 on Saturday. Loyola leads the event with a team score of 577, while Saint Peter's ranks second with a 36-hole count of 589. Canisius is in third with 600, while Fairfield (602) and Iona (603) are right behind the Blue and Gold.The third and final round of the MAAC Championship will tee off at 7:30 a.m., with Canisius players hitting the tee box starting at 9:10 a.m.
