  • After winning two out of three games during its mid-October road stretch, the Canisius volleyball team returns home to the Koessler Athletic Center to host Rider and Saint Peter's this weekend.
  • Canisius enters the weekend with an 8-13 overall record and 6-4 record in the MAAC, sitting in a tie for fifth place in the conference standings after a four-set win at Niagara last weekend.
  • Saturday's match will be part of the Dig Pink Campaign. Canisius is helping raise awareness for breast cancer for the third season in conjunction with the Side-Out Foundation.
  • Canisius defeated Rider in four sets on Sept. 22, while the Griffs defeated the Peacocks in three sets on Sept. 21.
  • Junior Emily Litwin was named the MAAC Libero of the Week on Tuesday, receiving the award for the second time this season. Litwin had 23 digs in the four-set win at Niagara and also served out the first set, capped by a service ace.
  • Litwin is second in the MAAC in digs per set (4.71).
  • Senior Roxanne Hernandez ranks second in the MAAC at 1.12 blocks per set.
  • Canisius leads the MAAC at 2.26 blocks per set. Canisius has ranked in the top three of the MAAC in blocks per set each year since 2006.


  • Rider enters Saturday's match with a 12-8 overall record after a three-set sweep of Delaware State on Wednesday night. The Broncs are 3-6 in MAAC play after defeating second-place Manhattan in five sets in Riverdale, N.Y. last weekend.
  • The Broncs have two of the top four and three of the top 10 players in attack percentage in the MAAC, with Bridget Sheerin hitting .308 and Kaitlyn Griffin hitting .300.
  • Saint Peter's comes to Western New York with a 3-22 overall record and 1-11 record in the MAAC. 
  • The Peacocks have three of the top seven players in the league in service aces, with Laura Reinhart ranking second in the MAAC with 39 service aces.
