The Canisius College Volleyball team traveld to Syracuse and lost in three straight games by scores of 16-30, 21-30, 17-30. The Golden Griffins see their record fall to 3-14 overall, while the Orangemen move to 14-9 on the year after winning their last five matches.

Freshman Christina Wildes (Long Beach, N.Y.) led the Blue and Gold with eight kills. Junior Jennifer Debee (Boca Raton, Fla.), sophomore Nicole Lucie (Lancaster, N.Y.) and freshman Kim Hoffman (Babylon, N.Y.) were all credited with five kills in the loss. Lucie led the team with six digs, while Hoffman added five more digs to her team-high.

The Griffs held close to the Orange early on in all three games before mistakes cost them. Canisius finished the evening hitting just .059 as a team.

The Griffs will be back in action this weekend with a trip to play two MAAC opponents. Canisius will play at Manhattan on Saturday, with game time set for 11 a.m. Canisius will then square off with St. Peter's College on Sunday. St. Peter's and Marist are the only teams in the MAAC without a conference loss in 2001.
