The Golden Griffins defeated the Red Flash by scores of 30-23, 30-26, 30-26, giving first-year head coach Cathy Hummel her first win as head coach of the Blue and Gold.

Freshman Kim Hoffman (Babylon, NY) recorded 11 kills and 11 digs to lead Canisius. Fellow freshman Christina Wildes (Long Beach, NY) was credited with nine kills and a game-high 23 digs.
