Canisius College volleyball player Leigh Launhardt has been named the G.R.I.F.F.S. Student-Athlete of the Week as voted on by fans at the Golden Griffins’ Web site at www.GoGriffs.com for the week of Sept. 23-29.

Launhardt tied a career-high with 14 kills and was also credited with four service aces, two blocks and six block assists as Canisius snapped its six-match losing streak with a 3-1 win over Binghamton Sept. 28. After missing the Griffs’ first three matches of the season the middle hitter ranks first on the team with a .254 hitting percentage, first in service aces with 24 and also leads the Blue and Gold with 46 blocks.
