Hoffman Named G.R.I.F.F.S. Student-Athlete of the Week

Canisius College volleyball player Kim Hoffman has been named the G.R.I.F.F.S. Student-Athlete of the Week as voted on by fans at the Golden Griffins’ Web site at www.GoGriffs.com for the week of Oct. 21-Oct. 27.


The sophomore outside hitter posted 11 kills in the team’s win against Siena Oct. 26, and then scored a game-high 17 kills and three service aces in the Blue and Gold’s 3-0 win over Marist Oct. 27. She had 28 total kills and hit .309 for the weekend. Hoffman ranks second on the team in kills per game, averaging 3.22 per contest. Canisius has won four of its last five matches and holds a 4-1 record in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.

Hoffman picked up 49 of the 98 votes cast (50%). Senior volleyball player Jennifer DeBee placed second with 22 votes (22.45%), while junior hockey player Joe D’Urzo (14.29) and freshman football player Nick Fermani (13.27%) rounded out the voting.
