Canisius College junior Kim Hoffman posted a double-double with 19 kills and 10 digs to help lead the Golden Griffins to a 3-0 (30-24,30-22,30-27) win over Fairleigh Dickinson University Saturday afternoon in the Koessler Athletic Center. Canisius moves to 7-9 overall with the win, while the Knights fell to 3-15 overall.
Hoffman hit .350 for the day with her 19 kills on 40 attack attempts. Freshman Mary Boller was credited with 12 kills, while sophomore Leigh Launhardt added nine kills, two service aces, one solo block and three block assists. Senior setter Jackie Reed collected a match-high 44 assists in the win, while junior Christina Wildes posted eight kills and 15 digs.
FDU senior Sharon Becker scored a team best 11 kills and 20 digs for the Knights. Michelle Feiser was credited with 24 assists and five digs, while teammate Keri Rowlands added 14 assists and four digs in the losing effort.
Canisius will return to action Wednesday, Oct. 1, with a non-conference match against local rival University at Buffalo. Game time in the Koessler Athletic Center is set for 7 p.m.
