Hummel led the Golden Griffins to a 16-13 overall record, 5-4 in conference play in 2003, the first winning season since 1997, and only the second winning record in the program’s 28-year history. Former coach Denise LaRusch also received the award following the 1991 season.

Boller became the first Golden Griffin to be named MAAC Rookie of the Year since former Griff player Shannon Jordan was honored at the end of the 1995 season. The 5-foot-11 middle hitter led the team with her .285 hitting percentage and finished her rookie season with 2.83 kills per game. Boller was named the conference’s Rookie of the Week Nov. 3, and finished the season ranked second on the team with 0.77 blocks per game.

Launhardt was named to the conference’s first-team after collecting 2.90 kills per game, 1.09 blocks per game and a .284 hitting percentage. She was honored as the MAAC’s Player of the Week Nov. 3, after helping lead the Blue and Gold to three-straight conference wins. Launhardt was also honored for her work in the classroom, joining four other Canisius players on the All-Academic Team.
