Freshman Alex Godzak continues to receive honors from his pitching performance in last week's no-hitter of Iona College. Godzak has been named the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Louisville Slugger Northeast Region Pitcher of the Week.

It is the fourth award given to Godzak after he threw seven no-hit innings on Friday. Godzak earned Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week honors from Collegiate Baseball, Rookie of the Week honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and MAAC Player of the Week honors from College Sports Madness.

Godzak threw seven no-hit innings as part of the program's first nine-inning no-hitter at the Division I level in an 8-0 win over Iona College on Friday. Godzak overcame walks to the second and third batters to retire the next 20 batters he faced as the Syracuse, N.Y. native also struck out six Gaels in his seven innings of work. The 5-foot-9 lefty combined with sophomore Rohn Pierce and junior Jon Fitzsimmons for the first Canisius no-hitter since 1993.

Canisius returns to the field against Cornell University today, with first pitch in Ithaca set for 3:30 p.m.
