Canisius College senior Ian Choy was named a 2010 ECAC Division I Baseball First-Team All-Star on Tuesday.

Choy is the third Golden Griffin to be named an ECAC All-Star during the past three seasons as Kevin Mahoney and Mailloux were named to the ECAC Second Team following the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

A three-time all-MAAC First-Team selection, Choy set career highs in batting average (.377), runs scored (59), hits (83), doubles (13), RBI (57), walks (31), HBP (24) and on-base percentage (.496) during the 2010 season. Choy set single-season program records with his 24 HBP, which ranked in the top 10 nationally, and .496 on-base percentage, which ranked in the top 50 nationally. Choy also finished his career with 256 hits - the most in program history.

Choy has earned a number of awards throughout his senior season. The designated hitter was one of 30 collegiate baseball players to be named a Lowe's Senior CLASS candidate prior to the start of the 2010 season. Choy also was named an ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-American and earned All-Academic District I honors for the second consecutive season. Choy also was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for the third time.
