Those four players will join the 13 student-athletes who were previously announced as additions to the Golden Griffin baseball program. The 13 players are Michael Booth, Aaron Casper, Sam Cumbo, Brooklyn Foster, Manny Hernandez, Michael Krische, Connor Panas, Rohn Pierce, Jesse Puscheck, Michael Rademacher, Iannick Remillard, Jason Rubenstein and Eric Stolzenburg.

  • Outfielder
  • Spent last season at Niagara County Community College, ranked eighth nationally in batting average (.442) and sixth in on-base percentage (.545)
  • Named to NJCAA All-Region First Team
  • First-Team All-WNY as a senior
  • First-Team All-Catholic three times

McRae on Kelso
"Coach Matt Clingersmith at Niagara County CC continues to pump out great teams with outstanding talents. We couldn't resist the opportunity to have Jesse join us after graduating from there and having three years of eligibility left. He is a very 'toolsy' outfielder who can hit, defend, and run. A tremendous work ethic has enabled Jesse to really improve his game over the past year. If he continues in that direction, he has the potential to dominate our league."

Jesse Kelso

  • Outfielder
  • Drafted in the 49th round of the MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs
  • Played for two years at Jefferson State Community College, hitting .309 with 20 stolen bases
  • Section V indoor track champion in the 300 meters and 800-meter relay in 2009

McRae on Segar
"Christian was the latest addition to our program and a pleasant surprise. Another junior college committment, Segar possesses game-changing speed.  I believe that his maturation over the past two years has him poised for a breakout year with us."

Christian Segar

  • Pitcher
Played with the Langley Blaze for two years
  • Ranked in the top 50 for Canadians on 2011 MLB Draft List
  • 2010 Team BC Arizona Fall Classic
  • 2010 WWBA Perfect Game

McRae on Stewart
"Devon is the third newcomer who played for the Langley Blaze, one of the elite programs in Canada. He is blessed with the rare ability of a power pitcher who can command the zone. Devon should compete for a weekend job early in his career."

Devon Stewart

  • Pitcher
  • Earned All-League honors three times while at Canisius High School
  • Also earned All-Western New York honorable mention three times
  • Went 8-1 with 62 innings pitched, a 4.25 ERA and 72 strikeouts at Niagara County Community College

McRae on Tronolone
"James is a quality left handed arm that has a ton of experience already. Having played at Niagara CCC, he has already experienced playoff baseball and will not be fazed by the competitiveness of our conference. He has peformed in a variety of roles and we expect him to do the same here at Canisius."
