Senior Christian Segar went 4-for-4 with two runs scored while junior Jimmy Luppens went 2-for-3 with two walks. Sophomore catcher Mike Booth went 2-for-5 while junior Jose Torralba scored two runs.

The Griffs got on the board in the first inning as Segar singled with one out and eventually scored on an RBI single from Luppens. The Griffs added a run in the third when Segar again singled with one out, moved to second on an error, stole third and scored on an RBI groundout from junior Shane Zimmer.

The Griffs took a 5-0 lead with a three-run top of the fourth. Torralba reached on an error and junior Ronnie Bernick singled to shortstop. An RBI single from sophomore Mike Krische scored Torralba. Segar followed with an RBI single while Kelso scored Krische with an RBI groundout.

The Bobcats (3-15) got two back in the bottom of the sixth to make it 5-2. Canisius pushed across a run in the eighth as Torralba led off with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from Bernick. A two-out, pinch-hit, RBI single from freshman Brett Siddall scored Torralba and put the Griffs up by four.

Freshman Alex Godzak picked up his second consecutive win by allowing two runs on five hits, walking three and striking out four in seven innings. Juniors Tyler Soucie and Jon Fitzsimmons each threw a scoreless innings of relief to close out the victory.

Canisius opens its home and conferences schedules this weekend with a three-game series against Saint Peter's University. First pitch for the doubleheader on Saturday is set for 11 a.m. at the Demske Sports Complex.
