LAKEWOOD, N.J. — For the second consecutive season, the No. 29 Canisius baseball team will face Siena College for the MAAC Championship. First pitch at FirstEnergy Park is set for noon on Sunday.
Canisius (40-14) won both of its games in the MAAC Championship, defeating Quinnipiac 10-1 and Fairfield 6-2. The Golden Griffins have won 18 consecutive games, the longest winning streak in the country at any point this season. Canisius has won 40 games for the second consecutive season and third time since 2008.
If Siena wins the game at noon, the teams will play again with the Saints needing to win again to win the MAAC title. Canisius needs one win in the two games to win the conference title.
Canisius defeated Siena 12-11 in walk-off fashion to win the 2013 MAAC Championship.
