Dave Smith - Hockey Head Coach
It is no secret that building a championship program takes a tremendous amount of hard work, sacrifice and unselfishness. It is an everyday project. And when that program reachs a championship level, it is important to continue to build on that. That's where the people in the community can come share in celebrating the creation and growth. Our hockey program is building to be a champion. We have accomplished great things, but we are at a crucial step in our growth process. The support and resources we receive through your donation to the Blue and Gold Fund can help us take the next steps toward being a champion everyday.
Katie Miranto '08 - Former Softball Player, Three-time MAAC Champion
Canisius is a special place. If it wasn't for the educational, athletic and service experiences I received here, I wouldn't be the person I am today. I can no longer compete on the softball field, but I can proudly support and invest in the educational and athletic experiences for current student-athletes in an effort to help propel Canisius athletics to a new level of excellence. I want all 17 teams to compete for championships. To achieve this goal, I know it takes the support of passionate donors. I am as proud to be a member of the Golden Griffin team now as I was when I was a student-athlete.
Shawn Parkhurst - Senior, Men's Swimming and Diving
In my time here at Canisius, our swimming and diving program has improved every year. That is very evident by looking at how we finished at the MAAC Championships last year. We are always striving to get better each and everyday, and it is a great feeling when all of our hard work is recognized by our classmates and professors on campus, by our fans in the stands and by our alumni. As a team, we understand that this wouldn't be a reality without the support from the people who donate to the Blue & Gold Fund. Those contributions are helping us continue to get better as we work to become MAAC Champions.
