The first Canisius College Cage Club Luncheon, to benefit the Blue and Gold Fund, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Pan American Grill inside the Hotel at The Lafayette, located at 391 Washington Street in downtown Buffalo. The luncheon cost is $20 and the event will start at noon. For parking information, click this link.

Canisius head men’s basketball coach Jim Baron will be on hand to discuss the 2013-14 season, which is the 110th campaign in school history. Baron will discuss the season-opener against South Dakota, which is scheduled for the evening before (Monday, Nov. 11) and he’ll also preview the team’s game at long-time rival St. Bonaventure, which will be played in Olean, N.Y., on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Registration for the luncheon is available online by clicking here. Advance registration is strongly encouraged and should be completed by Friday, Nov. 8. For more information on this event, please contact Angela Butler, administrative assistant for men’s basketball, at (716) 888-2971, or by email at butler25@canisius.edu.

Season tickets and single-game seats for all men’s basketball home games are currently on sale now through the Canisius ticket office by calling (716) 888-2885, or online here. The Griffs, who won 20 games last season for the first time since 2000-01, return three starters to this year’s team, including senior guard Billy Baron, who is the first Canisius player in program history to be named the MAAC’s Preseason Player of the Year by the league’s 11 head coaches.
