Junior Emily Litwin was named to the All-MAAC Second Team while freshman Katlyn Tyler was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team, in voting done by the coaches of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The honors were announced at the awards banquet held on the campus of Siena College on Friday evening.

Litwin led the MAAC at 4.94 digs per set in conference play. The Williamsville, N.Y. native posted double-digit digs in 28 of 29 matches, including a career-high 33 digs in the season opener against Eastern Michigan. Litwin had 518 digs on the season, which ranked sixth in program history as the junior became the third Golden Griffin to have 500 or more digs in a season.

Tyler averaged 2.13 kills per set and 2.59 digs per set. The Pavilion, N.Y. native led all MAAC freshman outside hitters in digs per set and was second among first-year outside hitters in kills per set. Tyler posted double-digit kills in five matches, posting a career-high 15 kills in the season opener against Eastern Michigan. Tyler also had double-digit digs in nine matches, recording a career-high 21 digs against Iona on Oct. 5.

Canisius has now had 18 players earn All-MAAC honors during the past 11 seasons, with at least one Golden Griffin being honored each year. That stretch of 11 years is the second-longest in the conference.

Six Golden Griffins were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team – seniors Emily Elek, Sydney Palka and Jessica Warner and sophomores Rachel Kline, Amy Osinski and Grace Streicher. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete needs a 3.2 grade point average and have completed two semesters at her institution.
