The Canisius College men's basketball game at Notre Dame, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 29, has been moved to ESPNU, Notre Dame and ESPN announced today. The game time on Dec. 29 has also changed, with the Golden Griffins and the Fighting Irish now set for a 5 p.m., tipoff in South Bend, Ind.

Canisius will be playing Notre Dame for the 24th time since the series began during the 1936-37 season in Buffalo. The two schools last met Dec. 22, 2002 in South Bend, with the Irish walking away with a 93-75 win. The Griffs' last win in this series came Feb. 4, 1961, when the Blue and Gold recorded a 79-72 victory in The Aud in downtown Buffalo.

The game at Notre Dame will serve as a homecoming of sorts for Canisius head coach Jim Baron, who served as an assistant at Notre Dame under former head coach Digger Phelps from 1981-87. Baron has coached against Notre Dame on three previous occasions, all while he was the the head coach at St. Bonaventure. He is 2-1 all-time against the Fighting Irish.

Canisius (3-3) returns to action Friday, Dec. 6, when the team plays host to Saint Peter's in the Koessler Athletic Center. The game, which will serve as the MAAC opener for both squads, is set to tipoff at 7 p.m. Tickets for Friday's game and all remaining home contests can be purchased by clicking this link.
