The Canisius College men's basketball team will close out its 2013-14 regular-season series with Marist on Sunday when the Red Foxes travel to the Koessler Athletic Center. Marist handed Canisius its first MAAC loss of the season back on Jan. 6, when the teams met in the McCann Arena in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

• Canisius closes out its brief two-game homestand this afternoon when the Golden Griffins play host to Marist in the Koessler Athletic Center.
• The Griffs are coming off an 87-74 win over long-time rival Niagara Jan. 22. That win, coupled with the team’s victory at Niagara Feb. 10, 2013, gives Canisius back-to-back wins over Niagara for the first time since March 2001.
• The Griffs come into this game with an 13-7 overall record and a 7-2 mark in MAAC play.
• Canisius extended its streak of scoring 80 or more points in a game to five straight after posting 87 points on the scoreboard against Niagara. This marks the first time Canisius has scored 80-plus in five-straight games since Jan. 6-20, 1979.

• The Griffs come into today’s game averaging 87.0 points per game in their last five contests.
• Canisius senior Billy Baron starts this game ranked fourth in the nation in scoring average with his 23.5 points per game. He had 31 in the win over Niagara, his four 30-plus point effort this season.
• Canisius senior Chris Perez scored 19 points in the win over Niagara Jan. 22. The Griffs are 8-3 this season when he scores in double-figures.
• Senior forward Chris Manhertz recorded his 11th career double-double (second this season) with 14 points and 11 rebounds against Niagara. He comes into today’s game two rebounds shy of becoming the ninth player in school history to collect 700-career boards.

• Marist comes into this afternoon’s game with a 6-13 overall record and a 3-6 mark in MAAC action. The Red Foxes lost at Niagara on Friday night by the score of 80-74.
• Junior Chavaughn Lewis leads the Red Foxes offense with his 17.1 points per game, which ranks eighth in the MAAC. He scored a game-high 25 points at Niagara on Friday.
• Three Marist players are averaging double-figures in the scoring column, including redshirt freshman Khallid Hart. Hart ranks 18th in the league in scoring average with 13.4 points per game. He’s been named the MAAC’s Rookie of the Week four times this season.
• Senior Adam Kemp ranks fourth on the team with his 8.8 points per game, but he leads Marist (and ranks fifth in the MAAC) with his 7.6 rebounds per game.
• As a team, Marist ranks ninth in the MAAC in scoring offense and fourth in the league in scoring defense.

• This will be the 39th all-time meeting between Canisius and Marist, with the Golden Griffins holding a 22-16 advantage in the series.
• The Griffs have won nine of the last 13 games between these two programs, dating back to 2008-09.
• Marist defeated Canisius 65-62 when the two teams met in the McCann Arena Jan. 6  to end the Griffs’ two-game winning streak in the series.
• These two schools did not play until Marist joined the MAAC prior to the 1997-98 season. Since then, the Griffs are 12-4 at home against the Red Foxes.
