The Canisius College Golden Griffins are currently ranked No. 23 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Men’s Mid-Major Top-25 poll, released today. Canisius is one of three MAAC schools in this week’s top-25, joining Manhattan (No. 14) and Iona (No. 22).

The Griffs received 82 votes this week after losing to Manhattan and Iona at home last week. This marks the third-straight week the team is in the top-25 of the mid-major poll, the longest run for the program in the poll’s 15-year history.

The CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Ivy, MAAC, Mid-American, MEAC, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, SWAC, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, the WAC and Division I Independents.

Canisius is currently tied for second in the MAAC standings with a 10-4 mark in league games. The Griffs are 16-9 overall, and the Blue and Gold is set to return to action this week with a pair of road games, starting at long-time rival Niagara on Friday, Feb. 14. That game will be broadcast live on ESPNU, with tipoff in the Gallagher Center set for 9 p.m. Canisius will also close out its regular-season series with Siena on Sunday, Feb. 16 in the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. That game will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, with tipoff set for 2 p.m.
