One week removed from setting four school records at the Spire North Coast Track and Field Open, the Canisius College indoor track team returns to action on Saturday at the Golden Eagle Invitational at SUNY Brockport.

Last weekend, the Griffs saw program bests set by sophomore Cooper Roach and senior Catherine Phillips in the men’s and women’s 1000-meter run respectively, as well as freshman Haley Keene setting a new school-best time in the 800-meter run.

The Griffs also set a new record in the men’s distance medley relay, with Roach, sophomore Travis Jordon, and freshmen Brennan Root and A.J. Stuver competing.

A number of Griffs also set personal bests in the meet as well.

Canisius will look to build on last weekend’s performance on Saturday, competing against more than a dozen teams from around New York State. The competition will feature longtime rival Niagara, University of Rochester, RIT and Buffalo State as well as others.

Action is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m.
