10 Griffs Receive All-Academic Honors

Ten members of the Canisius indoor track team received MAAC All-Academic honors, the league announced on Friday.

The Canisius women saw six members of the team recognized for their achievements in the classroom. Seniors Mikelle Cala (biology) and Catherine Phillips (animal behavior ecology and conservation), juniors Morgan Atkins (childhood education) and Brandi Pettit (physical education and health) and sophomores Kaitlyn Coon (psychology) and Robin Wagner (special education) were honored.

The men’s team had sophomore Michael Anvelt (computer science) and juniors Andrew Coy (biology), Chris Sauvageau (health and wellness) and Joe Schnitter (history) named to the All-Academic team.

In order to receive the award from the MAAC, the student-athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA over 3.2 and be at least a sophomore.
