Head coach Nate Huckle has announced the 2014 fall cross country schedule and the season is set to begin with a familiar event.
The Golden Griffins will open up the 2014 fall season at the Little Three Championship – a rotating event with crosstown rivals St. Bonaventure and Niagara on Aug. 30. The event will be held in Niagara Falls, N.Y. at Old Niagara State Park.
The Griffs will then travel to three races before hosting an event, including the UB Stampede on Sep. 6, the National Catholic Championships on Sep. 19 and the Paul Short Invitational on Oct. 4. The Golden Griffins will then host the Canisius Alumni Classic at Delaware Park on Saturday, Oct. 18, with the event set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
After hosting the Classic, Canisius will travel to Holmdel Park, N.J., where the Griffs will participate in the MAAC Cross Country Championships on Oct. 31, before heading to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y., on Nov. 14.
Canisius returns 16 men and 12 women from last year's squad. The Griffs will welcome eight newcomers for the upcoming season, two men and six women.
