Junior Tim Edwards and sophomore Nick Tuttle were honored with MAAC All-Tournament Team accolades following the conference’s championship on Saturday.
A first-team All-MAAC selection for the second-straight season, Edwards recorded three points on a goal and two assists against top-seeded Siena in the semifinals. He also added a team-best two caused turnovers to go along with three ground balls. Edwards finished the 2014 campaign by leading Canisius with 44 points, 29 assists, 83 ground balls and a .611 faceoff percentage.
Tuttle netted his first collegiate hat trick in the contest to lead the Canisius offense against the Saints. The sophomore midfielder moved to the starting lineup halfway through the season and totaled 15 points and 14 goals. Tuttle scored 13 of his 14 goals in the final nine games of the season.
Canisius posted a 7-8 overall record during the 2014 campaign, finishing tied for second in the MAAC regular-season standings. Canisius returns 9-of-10 starters next year, including 98.1 percent of the team’s points.
