The Canisius College men's lacrosse team takes a two-week break from MAAC action, starting with a road game against Robert Morris. The Griffs and Colonials are set to meet in Moon Township, Pa. on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

TWICE AS NICE FOR GIOURMETAKIS
• Leading the Griffs to their second victory of the season on Saturday against Manhattan, senior Simon Giourmetakis netted his second six-goal game of the season.
• Giourmetakis is one of only two players in the country to have two six-goal games this season, accomplishing the feat in just five games. Colgate's Peter Baum also has two six-goal contests in nine games this year.
• Prior to this season, no Griff had netted six goals in a game since 2009 when Adam Jones reached the mark against VMI.

GIOURMETAKIS RANKS AMONG THE NATION'S BEST
• Behind his two six-goal performances, senior Simon Giourmetakis now ranks among the best in the nation this season.
• Giourmetakis leads the Griffs with 21 points and 17 goals in five games in 2012.
• The senior enters the week ranked first in the MAAC and fifth nationally with 3.40 goals per game. He also places third in the conference and 12th in Division I with 4.20 points per game.

POWER SURGE
• The Canisius man-up unit has awaken in the past week, netting three extra-man tallies against both Hobart and Manhattan.
• The Griffs converted 42.9 percent of their chances in the two games after scoring at just a 13.3 percent rate in their first three games of the season.
• It marks the first time that Canisius scored at least three man-up goals in back-to-back games in the last 10 years. It also the first time since the 2005 season that the Griffs netted six extra-man goals in two contests.
• Senior Travis Gibbons leads the Griffs with four man-up goals this season, which is also tied for the most in the MAAC.

CANISIUS - ROBERT MORRIS HISTORY
• Canisius has won five of the seven meetings between the two schools, including 2-of-3 games at Robert Morris.
• Robert Morris, however, has defeated Canisius in each of the last two seasons.
• The Colonials averaged 15.5 goals in the two wins after averaging just 8.8 goals per game in the five Canisius victories to begin the series.

ABOUT THE COLONIALS
• Robert Morris is 5-3 to start the 2012 campaign with all three of its losses coming to teams currently ranked in the national poll.
• Kiel Matisz leads the Colonials with 35 points, 24 goals and 11 assists this season. Jake Hayes ranks second on the team with 26 points and 19 goals.
• Dillon Pope has seen a majority of time in goal for Robert Morris, posting a 2-1 record on a 13.72 goals against average and .495 save percentage. Matt Bukovac has started four games with a 2-2 record, 16.40 goals against average and .487 save percentage.
