The 2012 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Champions, the Canisius College men's lacrosse team will play at top-seeded Loyola in the NCAA First Round. The Griffs and Greyhounds are set to meet on Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Griffs (6-7) are making their second trip to the NCAA Tournament after earning the program's second conference title on Sunday. Canisius defeated second-seeded Detroit, 12-10, in the semifinal before earning a 10-9 victory against top-seeded Siena to win the title.

In its only other appearance in the NCAA Tournament, Canisius fell to eventual national champion Syracuse in 2008.

Loyola enters the NCAA Tournament with a 14-1 record and won the ECAC Championship on Friday over Fairfield, 14-7. The Griffs and Greyhounds have never met previously in men's lacrosse.
