Women’s Lacrosse Plays No. 18 Boston College

The Canisius College women’s lacrosse team put its school-record nine-game winning streak on the line when it plays at nationally-ranked Boston College on Sunday. The game between the Griffs and 18th-ranked Eagles is set to begin at 1 p.m.

• Canisius has won its last nine games and sits in first place of the MAAC with an 11-3 record and a perfect 5-0 league mark.
• The Griffs have outscored their opponents, 136-49, during their nine-game winning streak (average of 15.1 to 5.4).
• Sophomore Tori Quinn leads the team with 60 points on 37 goals and 23 assists.
• Senior Morgan Leonard has scored a team-best 42 goals this season, netting a career-best four goals in each of the last seven games.
• Sophomore Kayla Scully has posted a 6.69 goals against average and .546 save percentage between the pipes this season to anchor the Canisius defense.

• Sophomore Kayla Scully has anchored one of the nation’s top defenses in the country this season.
• Scully enters the week ranked first in the NCAA with a .546 save percentage.
• The current MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, Scully is also second nationally with her 6.69 goals against average.

• Canisius is still searching for its first victory against a nationally-ranked school but the current group of players have been very close.
• The Griffs are 0-16 all-time against teams listed in the IWLCA national poll.
• Canisius has played five ranked schools in the last two seasons with three of the defeats coming by three goals or less.
• The closest the Griffs came to the upset was during the NCAA Tournament Play-In Round last season when a goal with four seconds left lifted 15th-ranked Massachusetts to a 13-12 win.

• The schools have met on two previous occasions with the Eagles winning both contests.
• Boston College earned an 18-13 victory in Buffalo during the 2009 season, while posting a 14-5 home win in 2010.
• Overall, Canisius is 0-3 all-time against ACC schools, having also lost to Duke in 2009.

• Boston College is on a six-game winning streak, tied for the longest in school history, and stands at 10-6 overall on the season.
• Covie Stanwick leads the Eagles with 71 points, 51 goals and 20 assists this season.
• Mikaela Rix ranks second on the squad with 44 points on 39 goals and five assists, while also collecting a team-best 57 draw controls.
• Emily Mata has started all 16 games in net, posting an 11.24 goals against average and .342 save percentage.
