Every week I receive an email from my mom, where she forwards me the Campus Chronicle written by Chris Rumble on behalf of the men’s hockey team.  And every week the email says something like “too funny” or “I love it." She has tried to be casual in hinting that our team should have our own Campus Chronicle and how much fun people could have reading it. Eventually I got the hint and started talking to my teammates and coach Teeter. We all thought it could be a great addition to our program and now you are reading the very first Canisius Women’s Lacrosse Campus Chronicle.

We are currently 20 practices into our season, with just 11 left until our first game against No. 3 Syracuse and 13 practices away from playing 2013 National Champions, No. 1 North Carolina. It will come to no surprise that coach has made the road ahead a difficult one. We know it won't be easy, but we are confident the beginning of our season will prepared us for another run at the MAAC Championship title and NCAA tournament appearance.

With the friged Buffalo winter in full swing we are lucky to have an indoor practice facility nearby and the shuttle rides to and from practices have become something to look forward to. The embarrassing stories shared by the team keep us more than entertained on our way back to campus. This week we heard all about Steph Schmanlz’s trials and tribulations with the springs attached to her braces in the 9th grade and how Janae Guy wiped out in front of her entire lunch period and was covered in her own food as a freshman in high school.

This weekend we entertained ourselves and Tori Greco’s dogs with a few rounds of catch phrase. The game quickly escalated and soon there was a rule that every word had to be described in lacrosse terms. Ashley Bull managed to describe President Kennedy in terms of recruiting, saying his weaknesses would be shots. It was decided Caroline Ogden should definitely not quit her day job to play catch phrase for a living, as she tends to laugh instead of describe the words.

Just keep re’LAXING,

 Alexis Roskovich
